Social Marketing Charrette (October 1 and 2, 2008)

Educators seeking a more in depth, hands-on learning experience in social marketing attended a two-day Social Marketing Charrette on Wednesday and Thursday, October 1 – 2, 2008, held at NCTCOG offices in Arlington. The charrette was facilitated by Jack Wilbur, author of recently published "Getting Your Feet Wet With Social Marketing”. Mr. Wilbur is a social marketing and marketing research specialist, working as a public information specialist for the state of Utah. To read more about Mr. Wilbur, click here.

The two-day charrette consisted of hands-on exercises to develop an educational campaign to decrease the amount of herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers that get into stormwater and cause water quality problems in streams and reservoirs in the region.

Charrette attendance was limited to 30 individuals and participants were selected through an application process. Charrette participants were required to also attend the September 11, 2008 workshop; cost to participate in the charrette was $65, which included registration to the workshop, charrette materials and lunch at both events.

A copy of the charrette application form is here [pdf] or here [Word].
